Keerthichakra :: A Review

We always look for the thing what makes a film different. Yes, first thing that I noted is, it doesn’t look like a soap made for market. if you take a few movies made in India based on national feelings, you see a mix of love story and a few things made for market yes misusing patriotic feelings for profit. In Kirtichakra you wont see such a “mix” . Another striking difference is, the Director Major Ravi is himself an ex-serviceman, he was able to elicit the whole-hearted cooperation of the officers and the troops. The picturization therefore is a more authentic.

Director was able to convey the message fully and effectively, even though he is not using much of blood and fight in the scene that too in a movie based on Kashmir and Indian Army. I will give him 100 marks there. Mohanlal is looking perfect in the role of Major Mahadevan. Yes the whole cast, they did a good job.

Now, did the story lack the flow of a regular film story ? we wont feel that when we watch it. But when you think back, it contains few blocks. Feelings and problems of a soldier. Problems that their family faces their feelings pressure and wrong attitude the army face from within the Army and also from outsiders. I think the basic story line is a few blocks like that. But Major Ravi was able to present the movie in a way that we dont feel that while we watch the movie.

Inspiring, and touching Keerthichakra is worth watching twice……….

Day Dreamer

Thank you my friend for calling me a “day dreamer” …it made me think a lot and finally I agree with you I am a day dreamer. Its not because I am working in the night shifts and sleeping all the day …but just coz I love to imagine things of my own and spend a lot of time for that. So I can write a little about day dreaming right ? ..well let me start.. day dreaming is an art..ooh crap thats and old style to start writing  My ‘day dreams” have always helped me a lot. May be its just dreaming. Its like you create a 3DMX visual of something before you actually build ? yes…it has been something of that kind for me. I have the right to edit and create my own dreams and I lived to make those dreams come true. Now I am a proud day dreamer. Are you with me ?

“Tram” Another Anne Frank

“Why I have more dreams than anyone else around me ? why I demand a lot more from life ? ” she asked this when she was serving the nation as a Doctor in a gureilla camp in Vietnam, and the US army was closing in.Yes, thousands were dying infront of her…friends who said good bye in the morning came either as dead bodies or as badly injured after few hours. ” And she was writing a diary filled with love and dreams yes a lot….. her war time dreams

“Just yesterday,” she writes at one point, “a badly wounded soldier 21 years old called out my name hoping I could help him, but I could not, and my tears fell as I watched him die in my useless hands.” Afer a lot of years ..she is making the youngsters of her country feel deeply patriotric and telling them how tough and how sad where the days when their parents fought for the nation

Focus on the journey, not the destination

“Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.”

This is an entirely new way of thought that I came across last week. I am not sure how much true it is but of-course this has some point too. Most important one seems to be this. I ( and may be many others ) live for the end moment, for the joy of acheving something. And always miss the joy of doing , the happiness of living in between these goals. yes. I have missed a lot. Now that I know how important it is to live enjoying the way I do it, enjoying each and every moment of it.. Yes thats how I can enjoy my life to the fullest ..

There is another point in it. ( may be because I am an economics graduate ) compare the quantity (..well thats sounds odd I know .. I am sure economics guys will agree with me ) the joy of doing is more almost always.

May be this version is correct ( I am still thinking and editing this post ) the joy of  achieving your goal is different from the joy of working for it and we often forget to enjoy doing.

Go back to something you did, and think if you have missed doing it. Think again.. what were the things you could have enjoyed while doing it ? Then you will see that I have a point when I say you must learn how to enjoy doing. Please leave comments here if you agree with me
