A few comments that I received about Super Star Global Judges made me watch the show more closely and read more about what other say. Surprisingly, I have found that most of the responses were negative.
No one can deny that George Peter has the strength of experience, Gayathri has good knowledge of Music, Jyotsna is a good singer and Shaan is a promising musician. Still,most of them are not able to accept them as judges for a show, as they say ” a show like this” . These are the words which made me think a little bit. ” A show like this ”
Yes, here is the fact. We expected a lot from such a show. Reason ? may be the huge popularity that Super Star and Superstar Junior received, may be the high level of acceptance that Deepak Dev, Alphonese and Balabhasker received. ( I have seen a lot of people in the forums asking for them as judges again. )
Another point is that at there is a show for them to compare with, there is Idea Star Singer 2007 happening on Asianet, which is supposed to be the competitor (?) for Super Star Glbal. They have big names on seat. MG, Sarath and Usha Uthupu.
Despite of the fact that they have the experience, and knowledge, they failed to show the maturity of the place and mission they are on.
Conclusion. Yes, there is the question of satisfaction of viewers about Judges. But they have the knowledge and caliber for leading the show. But for some reason, they are yet to figure out the way to present themselves. But you have plenty of time. Lets hope that they will deliver what we expect them to.

I agree tht the first season of superstar was the best, with its outstanding cordination. But this year, its a fact tht ISS has been ahead, may be cause it started early, and unlike last yr they are improving with each round. As for the judges in SG, george is an encouraging judge…everyone else are good singers but not so good judges!!!
I wont agree that ISS is ahead of SuperStar just because, I believe they “cant”. I believe in the skill of the team behind the show and the credibility of a channel like Amrita TV
Have you seen the way ISS started ? have u seen the comments that those judges received ? anchor ? and the kind of grading system they had ? I do agree that they have improved a lot.
Another difference is the way they present the show. Superstar was made as a reality show, and ISS was always a script based drama.
George peter is an experienced guy. Gayathri has a good knowledge in carnatic and hindustani music. Jyotsana is a good singer and a performer.
We are not looking for a singer who remains inside the small box inside the recording studio. That is past. We are looking for appealing and performing singer. Most important part is the quality and knowledge of singing though.
M G Sreekumar is a good singer, sarath has good knowledge of Music, ( usha uthuppu no comments sorry ) but they cant give you a singer that you want. You can see that soon

So now I think the permanent judges are George peter n Gayathri :)….eventhough they have proved their excellence….feel their comments are boring!

If this continues I doubt if the programme can reach the heights they did last time …..hope 2 see btr judges!!!

hmm I think there is no pointing in expecting good judges.. coz they are not going to change the judges once the is on a track. … the main problem is this, they are not able to meet the quality and standard of Judges of Superstar 1 . George Peter and Gayathri has a tough task ahead meeting the expectations of a huge crowd, who were charmed by the entertaining Balu, Smiling but serious Alphones, and the one and only Deepak Dev. ..

bt 3rd melody round(4/9/07),actually Jayachandran insulted Praveen,he sng d song “NEE THUMBU KETTIYITTA CHURUL MUDIYIL…..”& it was not bad………no its really nice..and sweet………
Jayachandran sir said to praveen dat d song s a happy song and he sng it as a “sad song” actually cant understand vat he mnt?really shckd………….coz dat song is sad song from d film “Shalini Ende Kootukari”,and praveen’s singing mood was relally right…….

It is a GREAT show with lots of talents with out any dount. But the Pittiest and the most horrible and intolerable part is being played by the host SHYAMA. i simply couldn understand what silly things and gestures she makes each day. i change the channel as and when she starts talking.always and always talking nonsense and rubbish.Other than her everything is good.but sometimes the judes also feel arrogant with their fights in btw…
too much yaar,the contestants has to be put in idea star singer.ISS has improved marvellously this year and everything is perfect about them.amrutha is such a competing channel and the best,but ridiculous to keep a girl like SHYAMA.
too much other lang songs are not that good.will contestants in other states enjoy mal songs.better limit the other language rounds.SSG has a slight edge over ISS because of stephen.In ISS the orchestra is often masquerading the minute faults.also u can have a vote in the forum as to audience choice of a song for a particular singer ,from a reasonable list.
ok by the looks of it i am a little late on the this blog…but i agree with the author that SSG is far far better than ISS. I pity those performers in ISS.. they are made to look like fools. Much more like a fancy dress competiton. I feel sorry for Usha Utthup..She is an amazing singer ( i am sayin this because i have seen her perform live on several occasions)..she should have been a judge on SSG..
Now coming to the elimination rounds in ISS..its a whole load of crap..i am sure the results are fixed earlier which explains sum tiff and arguments between the judges and contestants..SSG contestants are far far better..more professional and composed singers..its tough to decide who your favourite contestant is…Amrita TV programmes have a standard and it explains why their shows are far better than asianet.. i think asianet is better off doing soaps and serials for housewives ( no offense intended to housewives here)..i am sure the viewership for reality shows will reduce the next year because of the pathetic way Asianet is conducting its show…and a advice to asianet ISS viewers…do not spend ur money on voting thru sms..they are just looting you..they do not show the sms count received by the contestants and also the shoots are taken much earlier and sumtimes u mite be voting for a contestant who is already out!!!..so beware..support what u feel is right and legitimate
