Faris Aboobakker, the latest sensation and what’s wrong with our Media ?
Have you ever asked that question after watching news channels in Malayalam ? There have been n number of times where I had to ask that myself. Sometimes I feel that they don’t have enough news to fill their time. The worst part of all is that, they treat a news as a movie which has the market value of a week.You have a news being “celebrated” across all the channels one day and after one week, it has only few seconds of their time, still the issue being socially relevant. ( just like you get some songs or comedy scenes of the old movies at times ) Thats what exactly happened with the viral fever that took around hundred lives in kerala. New born babies were dying in a Government hospital because of how “clean” and “neat” that hospital was.
What if you don’t have a news ? oh what did you say ? you don’t have news ? even releasing of Shivaji is a news that can be celebrated.
Now, the news can be “created” and the news can be “celebrated”.
Latest of the story is Faris Aboobaker,( manoramanews has the video )Â Â so what happened when he entered the scene ? ( I am not commenting on the political stuff around it because its not something of my blog’s interest ) there is no one to talk about Chicken Guniya, There is no one to check if Cochin is clean yet. Nobody is asking about how our Self financing colleges going to function this academic year.
As viewers, don’t we have the right to demand for consistency and social responsibility from popular media ?

If u r a keralite u don make such a comment. The news has a lot of significace to the current kerala political atmosphere. Introducing a person by a channel of a political party against the state leader and CM of that party. Does not it matter? It is nothing but the internal politics between two leaders. I don think there is a need to say the names. Lets watch how long and hu gains..
I didn’t say that the news is of less importance. It is important. But, my concern and my point is this. Media just need an issue for them to fill their prime time. When they have a new one, they will run behind them. You will see this news leaving the stage in few weeks time.
very few of our journalists show the consistency in the career ethics and responsibility of tracking down an issue, analyzing it and the most important, follow up on a timely matter. they report and forget but never take up an issue or issues.
“If u r a keralite u don make such a comment.” Yes, if I am real keralite, I should not never ever comment, because , Kerala is supposed to be like this. so that all our young bloods and brains will work abroad and feed the dirty politics and thats sucks big time.
What happens at the end of the day, is that, viewers also forget those issues, and its consequences because we tend to follow the trends that contemporary media sets no wonder if we act like them.
Political parties here, also start behaving in the same. They will address issues which have news value. Issue where they will be shown live on prime time.

It is a pity to hear from Sukumar Asheekodu using the word ‘ahangari’ to name Mr. Faris. He should hVE THROWN HIS EYES AND EARS outside India and see how enterprising youth grow. The free air and water they get in the out side world really lead people to say strong words towards those who pull back entrepreneurs.
hmm there is no investigation going on or a legal complaint him. But still we see a bunch of them trying to make him infamous. So do they know something extra that most of don’t know ? hmm thats something fishy dont you think so ? anyways, I would love to know
