Its fun, blogging about blog. But I am here with some serious questions for you.
Its been almost 2 years since I started blogging. Starting off with google’s blogger, moving to wordpress.com, and now wordpress self hosted blog.
This blog is an answer to my dream that is “almost” lost. I wanted to be a journalist. But I couldn’t . I will always remain a Journalist “wannabe”. I was really worried when I had to take up a job right after my graduation, and I felt, I will never be back on the track that I wanted to be on. But one of my neighbors told me that there is nothing to worry as long as you can keep writing something because, if you really love writing, you can and you need not be a Journalist by profession. This was not completely satisfactory for me. Still, it made me think and it made me write. Yes, “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.”
Like many others, I had no idea what to write about. Do I have to write my personal stuff ? daily journal or do I have to keep writing something like poems and inspirational text ?. I had both of them when I started off. Later on I added more like movie reviews, lyrics,tech stuff and more.
I am thankful to each and everyone who visited my blog ( more than 36k on my wordpress blog, and more than 2k here ) and those who commented ( more than 300 comments so far ).
I know it used to be more of personal thoughts and scribblings so far. Recently more topics are coming in. Media, Reality shows, Press, News , tech , Internet etc . This is an important phase in my blogging. I really wish to know, how you react to this change.
This is not to claim or boast that I am growing or I have this much experience etc. I know my blog is still in its growing stage. But I understand things have changed and I simply requesting your valuable feedback.
PS: Its a request. Please post your comments here. It can be anything about the blog. Content, topic, layout, language …….

Isn’t it wild how you feel when you watch your blog stats? Like it’s somehow a validation of self.
I recently took it a step further and posted a couple of my articles on Sphinn, and the dismal response has been less than titillating to say the least. I think my competitive nature is taking over in that regard; I’m determined to get a case study out of it or something!
I believe it’s a good feeling to know that what you say matters; that you can make a difference … and when you see your hit count go up, or you get a new post notification, in a way it’s almost like ROI on your posting time.
But even if nobody posts on my blog, or reads or cares, I’m really okay with that, because it’s me.
That’s one of the reasons I enjoy web design and creating marketing materials for people and their businesses and organizations: It’s just a really great feeling when you see the work you are doing, so visually “out there” and that it is really helping that person, business or organization.
I DO have something to offer, even if I am the only one reading my blog!

Yes, I remember this time in my life too when I had just started writing. I used to write for myself in the beginning, then I started writing for them readers. Then one day, I realized it wasn’t satisfactory. So then I started doing both - commercial as well as personal blogging and now it’s good.
I really like the header of your blog. Especially the “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly…”
So just like that caterpillar, never lose hope and keep writing and I’m sure one day you’ll have people quoting things from your posts in their headers too!

Thanks Amit, I uploaded more than 50 themes after installing the blog and finally decided to stick to this one. The header image was designed by my friend and me together … glad to know that you liked it …

I understand you’re whole thing with wanting to be a journalist and writing, but then deciding not to. It’s not the whole case with me, but I just decided broadcast was better for me than print j. It was tough, but I’ll still keep writing.
There’s a columnst for Newsweek and I loved her one column…which I can’t remember the title of. She basically said more people need to “write for their life” because writing is, I guess you could say, good for the soul. So take her advice and write for your life…and on whatever topic you want.

Yes, you are right… hmm “writing for life” thats the big point here, I agree. If you are a good soul, what you write for your life will be good for others too … ( too much thinking me hmmm lol ) so your point is , write for myself and dont wait for others right ? hmm ok let me think about it.. thanks for visiting my blog and the comments…..

Hey Dinsan, thanks for dropping by my blog. You got a great one too. Btw, why are you disheartened about not being able to be a Journalist.
Anyway, sooner or later the traditional means of media will die off. By writing a blog regularly, you can keep up your writing and maybe one day some media person will find this site, like your writings and invite you to write for them.
Faith can move mountains and hard work will be rewarded. One day you will achieve your dreams. Cheers.
