Websites that I will stop visiting soon !!

….because they have pop up ads

Okay, I agree that I have ads on my site too. But, I hate pop up ads. So, I hate sites which put pop up ads too.  So the sites are aol.in tech2.com and Ibnlive.com

Aol is something that I started visiting quite recently. But tech.com and ibnlive.com, are sites I am visiting daily, for a long time. I love reviews in tech2.com and I am addicted to  “being” an interview series in ibnlive.com. But pop up ads make me feel bad … you will go “voww” if you see the amount of ads put on tech2.com these days !!

So, most probably, I will stop visiting them.. or I might think about giving them a second chance, and add those sites to my popup blocked in Firefox :) .. what you think ? Anyone who love pop up ads uh ?

Nobody likes pop up ads (Esp. on IE 7…which is a menace). :) Even Google Word ads look ugly IMO. They really look spammy.

Thats strange.. they look spammy ? hmm I am not getting that point really… can we have user friendly ad formats ? something you can say, like “okay they have ads too” ?

Yes it can be user friendly if the users love clicking on them :P
Just kidding! I don’t know. I feel that there is no point in having ads if a website has low traffic because the owner won’t be earning much anyway. So, its better to remove the ads than to make the website look more pleasing for the readers.

Btw, I’ve a GMail convert now. Finally! :P Read on my blog what happened. I’m only using GMail now. I hope to stop using Yahoo! after I let all my contacts know. :)

    @ Ruhi

People like it or not, ads are here to stay on the internet… just because you can’t have only pay channels !! you watch a program on tv, inbetween u get an ad, you change the channel and then come back if the program is worth it. But sometimes, you like some ads and stay with them too,.. similar is the case here… some ads are interesting some are not…

as for a smalll website, with less trraffic, and less readers, ( like this one ;) ) its better remove ads, but as far as I am concerned, I am giving it a try, :)
So welcome to the Gmail family :p for any help post a comment here, we all Gmail fans together, will help our new member :)

That was a good comparison. :) Yes, I guess they are here to stay, else the business won’t be running.

Install adblock plus in firefox. That should take care of all the popups. Another nuisance website with pop ups is Rediff. But thankfully because of the adblock, i dont have any worries visiting any website.
