The Communist Business in Kerala

When I was in college, the most interesting thing that I came across in my Economics text books, was Communism.

I liked the way that Marx  analyzed human history . ( may be I am yet to read something better than that, if there is any, sorry ). Till then, history was like a library with all its books out from racks, a complete mess. But, with the Marxian view of History, you get a better, organized version of the story.

But, when the same thing was presented to me through books in Political science, I didn’t like it. It’s not just the goal that matters, right ?

Now, in the same way, the Communist Party in Kerala, is taking a step forward ( unfortunately, away from what it is supposed to be ). Investing in a water amusement park, worth Rs.35 corers. I am not here for an argument, ( business run by a political party ? water theme park when there is no water no rain ? no for coke or pepsi, but a big yes for part’s water theme park ? ). But, I feel, they are walking away from where people expect it to be, from what people want it to be.

If you are in Kerala, or Know kerala a little, there is another organization, or a leader who is actually walking in the opposite direction of what he is supposed to be. Yes, I said OPPOSITE.

Guess ?

Some great soul once said ” You get the govt you deserve”. How true. I believe Kerala deserves such a govt. No wonder they get voted every alternate election.

Its precisely this reason why my dad never wants to set foot in Kerala. Its precisely why we settled down in Hyderabad inspite of my mother’s protests. Today, am proud to say that iam a Hyderabadi first than a Keralite. That’s a sad fact.

At a time when other states are racing away with investments in technology, retail, infrastructure, farming etc, Kerala is racing on the other way towards doom. But then probably they deserve it.

true …. its a fact that govt is the choice of the people … and will reflect what they are like

but, we Keralites don’t have any other choice than these two groups ?

i can understand the frustration that is shared by quite a lot of Keralites. the situation in this state is becoming worse by the day.

but, if all the sensible people move away from this state(as is happening for over 2 decades now), will there ever be a change?dont we have a duty towards this small state of ours? as long as educated and sensible keralites keep themselves aloof from the social and political scene, how can we expect a change?

it is true that we get what we deserve…but dont u think we deserve better?

When the state (and the country) is run by a bunch of idioticians, you can expect much.

They are a bunch of thugs who say something, does the opposite.
Also communism works only in theory, history has taught us that !!!
many of the communist leaders still claim that they want malayalam to be the medium in all schools (govt ones) and are against english medium schools… and their children go abroad to do their studies.

    @ Xylene

hmmm you know how many foolish things they did in last 3 -4 years ???

sounds like they desperately need some money!!!

If we had a good govt who actullay works for the public intrest rather than their personal intrests…cities like cochin will be as developed as new york city…i am not kidding.

    Hello guys.
Your discussion is going on wrong track. Who said CPM investing in hotel industry or amusment park ? That all are the projects leading by Co-Operative Sector, not by CPM. CPM not yet invested in any profit making organisation. Lots of Compnies are running under Co-Operative sector. Pariyaram Medical college is started by UDF Leader M.V. Raghavan, Kairali Beedi (Against to Dinesh beedi) owned Indian National Congress ruling Co-Operative Society. What is the mistaken in investing Capital in Hotel & Amusment park Industry in Changing world scenario. Who told Co-operative sector can only investing in ‘ONACHADA’ like small small business.
