The answer is yes. There are reasons to believe so. Google’s Android is not just a mobile phone operating system. In future, you can expect Andriod being developed as a Desktop Operating system based on Linux. So, next time when you see the question ” Is Google Creating an Operating system”, say “YES” ( poor Microsoft .. first they lost the web to Google, and this time, their Desktop is in Danger ).

Now, Matthaus Krzykowski and Daniel Hartmann, founders of the stealth startup Mobile-facts, have found that you can take Google’s smartphone operating system, Android, and use it as a desktop operating system.

So, in future, Google will domniate your Browser, and most of the things that you do on the web + Your Desktop, right from your Operating system …. well,  if you decide to use their OS.  ( If they make a good OS, why not, right ? ).

Cloud Computing and Google Operating system, a possibility ?

Cloud Computing is a paradigm in which information is permanently stored in servers on the Internet and cached temporarily on clients that include desktops, entertainment centers, tablet computers, notebooks, wall computers, handhelds, sensors, monitors, etc.”

If you have noticed the way Google’s G phone works, you will understand this point better. Everything is linked to your google account. Whatever you store on your mobile, getsstored on the web too, ( for example, your calender on mobile is synced with the google calender,).  Read more here

Now,  think about it ….  (a) Google’s Andriod mobile operating system, is something that can be developed in to a operating system for PCs and Netbooks etc. (b) Andriod Mobile phone works almost similar to how Cloud Computing works. And that means, Google’s Operating system is going to use Cloud Computing a lot, and it will be Google’s advantage over others.
