December 30th, 2009 — Google Nexus One Phone
When I wrote about leaked specs of the upcoming Chrome OS Netbook, s4n705h asked me if I forgot the Google Phone, Nexus One.
Well, no s4n705h, I haven’t !
I have been reading about the phone a lot these days, and all those android blogs I am following is filled with Nexus one news pictures and videos these days.
Well, the latest info is the greatest. Google has invited press persons for an “Android Event” on January 5th, 2010. We have strong reasons to believe that they will be announcing the phone during this event.
Wondering what this google phone is ? Let me give you a brief introduction, and all the basic info you need to have, about Google’s new venture.
Why is it called the Google Phone ? : It runs Android, an open source mobile operating system developed by Google. Hardware built by HTC, but sold and supported by Google. Yes, Google is going to sell this phone directly !
Specs of Google Nexus One
Sounds good ? Nexus one is going to be one powerful plus beautiful device, and with google supporting it and selling it ( price subsidies, may be ? ), there seems to be a good future for this phone. Apple, iPhone .. watch out !
A few Google Employees were lucky enough to get this device few weeks back, as part of a test run. Google had confirmed this news through a blog post and that’s from where all these pictures of the device come from.

Google Wave on Thunderbird
Are you guys still using Google Wave ? Is the excitement about google wave dead already ?
I have seen similar questions on many blogs and websites recently. But this does not stop me from blogging about google wave .. and here is a new piece of information. Use Mozilla Thunderbird’s new tab feature to run google wave.
Thunderbird is a free email client ( like Outlook from Microsoft) from Mozilla, people behind Firefox browser.
Recently, they added a new “Tab” feature to their popular email client, Thunderbird. With the help of a small script, you can use Google wave inside Thunderbird, in a new tab, just like another inbox open, next to your regular email. Here is how to set this up
Go to Tools menu, select Error Console, and enter this line (be sure to select all of it):
Components.classes['@mozilla.org/appshell/window-mediator;1'].getService(Components.interfaces.nsIWindowMediator).getMostRecentWindow(“mail:3pane”).document.getElementById(“tabmail”).openTab(“contentTab”, {contentPage: “https://wave.google.com/wave/?nouacheck”});
Hit the “Evaluate” button when you’re done, and you’ll see a new tab asking for your Wave login. Log in, click “Remember” to have Thunderbird remember your password
Try this and let me know if you liked it !
