Why I can not blog about my passion

I was reading an interesting post by Lorelle VanFossen on Blogherald. It’s about writing about finding your passion, the most interesting thing in your life/blog or, something that you always think about, talk about and have more to write about.

You think about blogging on the subject constantly, at work, at play, in the night.
The subject is usually first in your head when you wake up in the morning.
You keep coming back to the subject matter on your blog.

That’s how you discover your passion. ( read the full list and post, really useful ). I thought, I will ask our “she” . I keep talking to her online/offline, for hours everyday, so she might be knowing what I am interested in ?

“Hey, read that post, and tell me what I am passionate about”
“Do you need any passion other than me ?”
“No !! so, can I write about you ?
“Noooooooo”

Okay guys, so I can’t write about my passion, now, read that post and tell me what I am passionate about, or what you enjoy the most on my blog, which topic you find interesting … etc etc …. more feedback please !!!!

The Communist Business in Kerala

When I was in college, the most interesting thing that I came across in my Economics text books, was Communism.

I liked the way that Marx  analyzed human history . ( may be I am yet to read something better than that, if there is any, sorry ). Till then, history was like a library with all its books out from racks, a complete mess. But, with the Marxian view of History, you get a better, organized version of the story.

But, when the same thing was presented to me through books in Political science, I didn’t like it. It’s not just the goal that matters, right ?

Now, in the same way, the Communist Party in Kerala, is taking a step forward ( unfortunately, away from what it is supposed to be ). Investing in a water amusement park, worth Rs.35 corers. I am not here for an argument, ( business run by a political party ? water theme park when there is no water no rain ? no for coke or pepsi, but a big yes for part’s water theme park ? ). But, I feel, they are walking away from where people expect it to be, from what people want it to be.

If you are in Kerala, or Know kerala a little, there is another organization, or a leader who is actually walking in the opposite direction of what he is supposed to be. Yes, I said OPPOSITE.

Guess ?

If I am Lucky Enough …..

If I am lucky enough, I will have this in my hand within two months.

Hermann Hesse, “Siddhartha”

“When someone is seeking…it happens quite easily that he only sees the thing that he is seeking; that he is unable to find anything, unable to absorb anything…because he is obsessed with his goal. Seeking means: to have a goal; but finding means: to be free, to be receptive, to have no goal.” Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha

I read this book in Malayalam and I am finding it little difficult to express, what it was like. I feel great, … I feel, I got something that will help me look at life and people from a perspective which is very much different from what it is now.

It’s tough to understand, sometimes, like when he says “There is no past, or future, …. everything is present. ..”  It is tough, when he says,

Blog of Small Things

So, what happened to my reading habit ?

Bad news first : I am yet to finish the book ” God of Small Things”.Now the good news : I am still reading it, and I am reading few other books too.

Yes, I am still reading God of Small Things. I loved it, and was inspired enough to rename my blog to, Blog of Small Things. Offline Blog was a temporary name, and I was looking for a new name all this time. So, here we are , with the new name, “Blog of Small Things” How is that ?

I visited my village library, paid a fine for not returning a book for 1 year. Librarian is a great friend of mine, so I got the fine amount reduced to Rs.100. And yea, I bought 3 more books from Cochin last week.

I am fighting my “readers block” ( Thanks Nikhil for that term ). It is tough, real tough. I tried lot of things, and got a lot of suggestions.

I am going back to Malayalam books now, because that is where I started, and that is where I should start correcting my reading disorders. Reading Malayalam books may help me make reading much faster, hopefully …..

Palakkad on a Cell Phone Cam

Palakkad is district in Kerala, which is green green and green. It’s 135km away from where I am now ( Cochin ). I visited my roomie’s village last Sunday. It was a fun drive on the bike and yea…… in the heavy rain.

I don’t have a digi cam yet. These pics are from my roomie’ 2.0 MP Cell Phone Cam. Is it really worth to spend few thousands on a digicam with little photographic skills ?.

PS: Thanks to Ruhii.

Happy Independence Day

iPhone, will you marry me ?

After falling in love with iPod shuffle, my new girl friend, I decided to ask iPhone, if she is ready to marry me.

Yes’ I know, that sounds weird. But, my parents told me that it is ok with them as long as the girl is from the Apple family. Actually they will be happy to have iPhone as her daughter in law, because apple has offered 8GB as dowry compared to 2GB from iPod shuffle.
