January 24th, 2010 — Google Wave
Read-Only Participants, was a feature that all Google Wave users were asking for. Now, Google Wave team has added to this feature. They have also added a new featured which lets you restore your wave from the timeline.
Read-Only Participants
The creator of a wave can now change other participants on the wave between full access and read-only by clicking on their picture at the top of the wave panel, and selecting the access level in the drop-down.
These users will have only one option, to view the wave. They will not be able to edit, or add users to the wave. This helps you share the wave with others, retaining the control over the wave to yourself. The best use of this feature will be in those public waves.
Restore from Playback
Anyone with full access to a wave can now restore that wave to any previous state visible in playback. Restoring does not delete anything from the playback history, but adds the restored state to the end of the history.

Wavr Plugin for WordPress
So boys and girls of waveland ( if you are not a member of Google Waveland yet, come on in ! ), here is another Wave plugin for WordPress. It does something basic as of now, like most of the other plugins for Google Wave. But I see some serious work going on with this sourceforge.net hosted project.
Use this plugin to embed Google Wave inside a wordpress post, as easy as [wave id="wave-id"].This plugin implements the full wave embed api. Will include widgets for the sidebar in the near future. Features a TinyMCE button for embedding the wave.
You can download the plugin from here Official WordPress.org Page here
That’s the short description about the project. These guys are trying to create a community around this wordpress plugin, which is a good sign, and has an idea about what to do with this plugin in future releases. They are promising a sidebar widget in the next version.

March 16th, 2009 — blogging, wordpress, Wordpress Themes
WordPress 2.8 is is the next major release of wordpress. The new feature that I am looking forward to, and playing around with now is the new way of installing and upgrading themes.
Please note that wordpress 2.8 is in the development stage and these features may or may not change when it’s released.
With wordpress 2.8, installing a new wordpress theme, and upgrading it, ( when the author updates the theme), is easy. It is done using the same method used for wordpress plugins. One condition : The theme should be hosted on the wordpress.org website, and for that, it should be GPL compatible.
Step 1. Browse and Find a Theme.
From “Appearance” tab, select ” Add New Themes” You will get a screen like this.

Step 2. Search
Search for your theme using keywords, or browse using tags. I searched for the theme “Hybrid”

Step 3. Preview
Preview the theme that you selected. Click on the link “preview” and you will get a preview generated from wordpress.org page.
