Gmail will be the most used website, or webapp and we always wait patiently wait for it to load, we understand the pain it takes to load all our emails chats and attachments right ?
You said Yes ?
Really ?
I thought so, gmail is loading slower these days with all the new features and extensions added to it and if you have offline gmail enabled, it will take much longer for gmail to load. Well, Google also knows this patience test that we go through every time we open gmail and they are working on a 1 second to inbox startup solution.
Google is planning to do this with the latest HTML5 technology which is gaining popularity these days. ( Apple, iPhone, Flash is evil – got the puzzle ? )
Thanks to HTML5, we will soon have advanced features on more webapps, and gmail will be on of the best platforms for HTML5 to show its strength.
Good move, Google !
January 24th, 2010 — Google Wave
Read-Only Participants, was a feature that all Google Wave users were asking for. Now, Google Wave team has added to this feature. They have also added a new featured which lets you restore your wave from the timeline.
Read-Only Participants
The creator of a wave can now change other participants on the wave between full access and read-only by clicking on their picture at the top of the wave panel, and selecting the access level in the drop-down.
These users will have only one option, to view the wave. They will not be able to edit, or add users to the wave. This helps you share the wave with others, retaining the control over the wave to yourself. The best use of this feature will be in those public waves.
Restore from Playback
Anyone with full access to a wave can now restore that wave to any previous state visible in playback. Restoring does not delete anything from the playback history, but adds the restored state to the end of the history.

Its been a while since I used wordpress.com for blogging .. I got so used to self hosted wordpress blogs, that I think less about wordpress.com bogs these days ( hence blog less about them ) .. and I even stopped visiting wordpress.com … ( just wordpress.com .. I still read your wordpress.com hosted blogs … don’t worry !! )
somehow reached wordpress.com today and spent some time there …. and there, I have a question for my friends using wordpress.com blogs …
WordPress.com is doing a good job with features that they offer, and they are adding new features every now and then. But, do you miss something ? Do you need something more from them ? …. like … more freedom about looks of your blog … more plugins … etc ? Comments please ………

Google released their very own open source browser today. I was eagerly waiting for it’s release like many others, because, we expect the best from Google.. right ? I kept reloading the browser tab on Chrome’s URL, but it gave 404, not found error all the time, and finally, google reader sent me the official release post. Or if you go to google.com, you will see an announcement there too.

Installation was pretty easy. Click “Download”, Agree to TOS, and then, wait for few moments to get it installed.
So, Google Chrome is ready on my Laptop. Let us test it now. First website ? Okay, we will try, gmail.com. Was it fast enough ? YES !! Google Chrome works little faster than firefox. But that was just my first impression ok ?
Google Chrome has a lot of new features to offer. Like, the way of tab design, ( you can drag your tab away and make it a new window itself ) etc. If you need a full list of new features, go here.

Okay, is it new features week on Google Docs …. may be, because they are rolling out features one after the other. Here is the latest: You can view your presentations and spreadsheets etc offline too.
You won’t need to worry about an unreliable internet connection as you walk up to the front of the room to give your next presentation. Just click on your Google Docs desktop icon and know that your presentations and spreadsheets will be stored on your computer, at your fingertips.
Well, thats something useful for me. Not because my connection is unreliable, but because it is little costly at the moment. ( I am using Wireless connection : “Plug 2 Surf” from Tata Indiacom. ) So, when I am working with my google docs, I can save my free hours.
We still only support English language access, and Google Apps users shouldn’t expect to see offline Docs unless their domain admins have opted in to getting this new feature
Thanks, I am okay with “English Only” part. But I said thanks because I just started using Google Apps that will be great to have this feature here on my website too. So, Offlineblog.net can really go Offline !! ( I will post my Google Apps experience as soon as possible. )
