Add Comments To Photos on Orkut
Orkut has added a new feature, which is yet to be officially announced through their blog. You can now add comments on the photos in orkut albums.
This is going to be as popular as scraps, I believe. When I get time, I should go through albums of all my friends and post as many comments as possible lol. Hack in to everyone’s orkut album and comment now. Well, if you know how to hack an orkut album, teach me too. !!
Thanks to Rekha for this news

Manage your Orkut Album Better
I have seen many crazy orkuteers who keep updating their album on a daily basis. If you areĀ one of them, orkut has a new feature for you. You can now “drag n drop” photos to re order them in the same album.
Here is what you need to do, in order to re-arrange your photo album
1 Login to Orkut > Albums > Album that you want to edit >
2 Now, Click on “Reorder photos”
3 Drag and re-arrange your photos you wish
4 Save
I know it’s a good feature, but I am expecting more here. How will you move photos from one album to another ? There is no option for this at the moment. When will you enable this feature pleas ?

Orkut News : Manage Friends Better
Here is the latest from the Orkut world. New feature has been added. “Friend Management Page”. It enables easy editing, and modifying of your contacts. Read more about this new feature here
What I am looking for is another feature, which I think should be easier to add to this one, and make orkut little more better, from the online safety and privacy point of view.
We have an option to limit the access to our photos videos etc. If its linked with this feature, we might be able to make our photos etc more private. In other words, we need an option to give access to certain groups of friends. Further more, it can be like this. Preference for each album can be edited and give access to different friends group or groups. So, I have a family photo album, and I limit the access to family friends and another album with my college photos which I have made accessible to my college mates and few public albums where I put my Flickr photos ?
Hello Mr. Orkut, are you listening ?

To help developers ready their applications, we’re offering engineering support and training. We’ve scheduled orkut hackathons on Feb. 14-15 from 10 am-6 pm at the Googleplex in Mountain View and via videoconference in New York. For more information or to RSVP, please email hackathon.rsvp@gmail.com. If you can’t attend, we hope to see you in the OpenSocial forums or on chat (irc://irc.freenode.net/opensocial). “

Orkut - Add Albums and Orgainze Photos
When they increased number of photos on each account to 100, did they forget to give you ability to organize them, in to album and not just make a pile of 100 photos ? Well, if you think so, here is an answer for you, even though little late, Orkut has enabled photo albums on all accounts.
How to
from orkut’s blog
All of your current photos will be stored by default in their own album. Feel free to setup new ones by going to “photos” from your homepage. Orkut Privacy another step ahead

Google has taken another step forward with allowing orkut users to keep their scrapbook and feeds.
” And now, we’re announcing that we’ve expanded privacy settings so you can now do the same with your scrapbook and feeds. Though some of us feel perfectly comfortable keeping our scraps open to the community, we know some of you are more private and would prefer to keep them among friends. How do we know? We’ve heard you in the help group and help center, and we’ve listened! Limiting who can view your scrapbook has been a long requested feature on orkut”
Still, we always expect more about orkut privacy, may be because its more and more insecure these days ? I have been using it for more than 2 years now, and I have personally experienced the number of misuses increasing
Have you noticed any possible security issue with orkut ? You got any suggestions ? I am in search for them !!
PS: Been busy all this week
sorry for the delay in reporting this..even though I know you all read this somewhere else before my post
I am thinking how to get you news before anyone else ( ***ssssh )

Do you own a community on Orkut ?
Yes, I do, 5 of them. Now if you have a few, here is news for you.
“….community owners can now display a news feed on that subject within the community. So while you talk to your fellow members, you can see what’s in the news on the same subject, without leaving orkut. When this feature is available for your community you will see a message on its page. Click on the “edit profile” link from that community and you’ll see a new feature, called “customized news”. Once you click to enable it, you will enter the subject or term you’d like news about.”
If utilized well, this can be helpful. But, I am not sure how matured orkut communities are, to use it for good causes.
And, have you joined the wordpress community on orkut ?
